    China’s Military Development:
What is Happening and What Does it Mean?

    Dr. Phillip A. Karber

    Tuesday 9 July 2013 at 5.45 for 6pm - 7.30

Dr Phillip Karber is arguably the best informed non-government American researcher on current and prospective developments in the Chinese People’s Liberation Army. In this seminar, Dr Karber will deliver a highly-illustrated presentation that will draw extensively on the research results he has developed in partnership with his post-graduate students, his extensive travels in China, his detailed analyses of satellite and other imagery and his high-level contacts with officials and other experts in the field. His intent will not just be to talk about current and prospective developments in the PLA but, as far as is possible, to show participants the evidence for his views. This seminar will be exceptionally valuable for any who have an interest in China’s future military capabilities.
